I adapted some of my old FindAnISP techniques to “scarf” up lists – Premiere and WestWood One have this technique of only showing you one state of affiliates at a time, which means it takes a long time to go through state by state.
So that’s the kind of thing a computer loves to do.
The types of stations that carry Monday Night football:
361 are AM, 96 are FM
57% of those stations stream (none should actually be streaming the game) – 201 are AM, 60 are FM
Affiliates by station format:

With the more accurate list, hopefully it will be clearer why you bump into so many “broken” stations on Monday Night during football season.

I think your implication is exactly correct – we would find out many of these people spent their 6 years as undergraduate in college sitting around playing WoW instead of learning to think and preparing for being a productive person.
