In unrelated news, President Obama a few days ago announced that all US troops will be leaving Iraq in the next two months, due to being unable to negotiate the terms under which they could stay. Turkey and Iran continue their cross border attacks into Iraq to pursue members of the PKK (Kurdistan rebels).
Despite the NTC being recognized as the official government of Libya, European governments and banks are refusing to turn over control of Libya’s government assets to the new government. I’m shocked, I tell you.
