Newt’s biggest campaign problem

Newt has a pretty fundamental problem running for President (beyond his political views and his personal life) 🙂

I suffer from the same problem.   Newt thinks like and talks like a college professor.    When I pretended to be a manager for a couple years, I would rely on the Socratic approach – not giving people the answers, but asking them questions that would lead them to figure out the answers preparing them to be able to think on their own when I wasn’t there.

Most people don’t want that responsibility.   They just want to be told what to do and not assume any responsibility for their own decisions.   They aren’t particularly interested in why they are doing anything.

Newt knows lots of things about lots of things.   Nancy Pelosi is hinting she might bring up some ethics issues.   Newts reaction will surely be “Bring it on”… starting with wanting to know who hired Craig Livingstone in the Clinton White House and ordered the FBI to ship over boxes of confidential interviews done by the FBI containing personal information on members of Congress and people who had served in the Bush administration.

You may remember that Louis Freeh was director of the FBI at the time.

In case you missed it, Mr Freeh has been appointed to be the trustee of the Bankruptcy of MF Global – the company that former New Jersey Jon Corzine cratered (on purpose?).    Mr Freeh will be getting to the “truth” just any day now about what really happened and where the $1.2 billion vanished to.

Newt and a live TV camera is the worst nighmare of the Democratic party.   Perhaps he would ask how Mrs Feinstein made millions in real estate profits and if there are any ethics issues there.

‘Uncle Newt’ : well at least he hasn’t shot anyone in the face.
You know, That could be a campaign slogan.

Moynihan did it on the senatorial level (but the press didn’t hate him) – it was a different time though. I think Safire in, Before the Fall, mentioned that all of his speeches were the exact length of a class at Harvard.
