Cumulus gives Doug McIntyre the heave ho

Red Eye radio is running out of runway.

Midnight Radio Network will merge to create the Bleary Eyed Trucking Network. I had the trucking guys as being syndicated by Dial Global – time for some research. Maybe Dial Global had a non exclusive deal.

So the dominos keep falling. Who is next? Mark levin? John Batchelor? Bob Brinker? Don Imus? Scott Shannon?

With friends like Cumulus, who needs a Fairness Doctrine?

As near as I can figure it, ABC Radio (then Citadel, now Cumulus) produces and owns the show, but Dial Global syndicates it.

There are suggestions McIntyre may return to doing something locally on KFI in Los Angeles. He probably has a contract that is not “at will”

McIntyre is headed back to the morning show slot at KABC in Los Angeles.

My bad. KFI is the Clear Channel station. I often get them confused.

Wow – the article mentions that KABC is #38 in the ratings in L.A. in November. (KFI is #1 – I won’t make that mistake again)

Not living in California, I completely didn’t know that. That totally sucks. You figure Cumulus probably figured KABC had to be at least $50 million of the value of Citadel and it’s drawing less than a 1% share. Maybe they’ll rehire MR KABC.
