Glenn Beck’s big announcement today is a 3 day long gathering in Dallas the last week of July called “Restoring Love”. More than a “show”, it will be people volunteering to help on projects.
Pat Gray has apparently not told Glenn what Dallas is like in July. I made the mistake as a young man of hopping in my car with no air conditioning in July and heading to Texas. The daytime heat and humidity are unbearable without air conditioning. If you’re acclimated to the heat and know how to avoid heat problems, you’ll be OK, but if you think you’re going to hop off an airplane, and go hammer on a roof in the middle of the afternoon, you’re in for a rude awakening.
Used to live in Foat Wuth on Carswell AFB. I don’t recall if it were July or August, but we went through a two-week spell of 100-degree-plus weather that summer, with three days in a row exceeding 110. The hottest day hit 114. Other than that, Texas really is a cool place.
You were acclimated to the heat and probably were not out pounding on a barn roof at 2PM in the sun.
Later in the show, they briefly alluded to the summer heat. One of the days, they will have an event inside Texas Stadium
LOL – actually I was out in it every day, running a three-mile aerobics circuit the Air Force cleverly laid out with spigots attached to hoses about every 1,000 feet or so — just about every building that had one, had them turned on and ready for runners. See? I was actually fit … in place far away, long, long ago…. Run, stop, spray in the air, cool off, rest a minute or two, drink, rinse and repeat. Standing under the self-made rain felt absolutely wonderful. It was actually kind of fun, but — Oh Lordy! — was it ever hot! As I recall, much of the nation struggled with that heat wave, as far north as Chicago.
