Libya now has $100B in “unfrozen” assets

Put yourself in the position of the leaders of Libya’s new government.  The UN voted on Friday to lift the sanctions that had “Frozen” the assets of the Libyan national bank.   Oil revenue is coming back online.

You hear that European banks are on the verge of collapse.  You’ve seen how effectively NATO and the UN can violate your national sovereignty just by voting and sieze your country’s financial assets without any kind of fact checking or legal finding.

What do you do now?   You don’t yet have anything resembling a working government, and there is no way you can spend all that money building and repairing things in less than a decade.

While you are only in power because of NATO, I’m thinking I’m going to move a lot of that money to some place safer (Switzerland?  US?  China? Japan?) , which probably will push the EU banks into collapse.   If the whole world’s economic system falls apart as a result and we lose everything, Libya still has the oil in the ground to sell when everything resets and we start all over.
