Fresh Blood for Talk Radio

With Neal Boortz announcing he is retiring in January and several other hosts at or approaching retirement age, that means you should expect to start hearing some new younger voices soon.

One of them is going to start next week in his own syndication.   You’ve already heard his voice as an occasional guest host, mostly on TRN shows.

The new host is not an old establishment white guy with a law degree with right down the line dogmatic Conservative values, but is instead Ernest Istook    Mr Istook is 62 years old, a lawyer from Oklahoma, where he served in the US House from 1992 to 2006, when he quit to run for Governor of Oklahoma and was soundly defeated.   Since he left office, he has been working for the Heritage Foundation and the John F Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University learning about political propaganda.   He’s been working for the government or lobbying groups since 1977.  Oh wait…

The producer of this new show is WYD Media, who is also responsible for Stephanie Miller, Thom Hartmann, Mike Malloy Ring of Fire and Michael Smerconish.   The blurb I saw didn’t mention who is handling syndication, but it seems likely it would be Dial Global.
