They’re a family farm located in Decatur Michigan. Over the years, they have bought up neighboring farms until they now own 40,000 acres across 6 counties, and their own grain mill.
I would not be shocked if the failure of MF Global is related, nor would I be surprised if many other farms and grain elevators have the same fate. Their biggest creditor is the evil Monsanto, producer of hybrid and genetically modified seeds
– they owe a bit over $3 million.
You know, next year would be a good time to send the unemployed urban kids out to work the farms using manual labor instead of those global warming, fossil fuel burning, job costing tractors and combines. We could give it a catchy name like the Great Leap Forward!
