From the bits I heard, it sounded like the shooting at the Portland mall was targeted and just happened to be at the mall. He wasn’t shooting at random people.
One of the two people killed (other than the suicide of the shooter) was the General Sales Manager from Entercom.
Entercom operates around 10 stations in Portland. Recently, Portland was in the radio news because Clear Channel pulled the plug on KPOJ, the so called “Progressive talk” station.

I suppose any connections to the Portland mall shooting and the truth will be ignored, once again, by those who rule over us.
