This is a work in process, and at the moment has no apparent purpose 🙂
Mobile phones have very many different capabilities to play streams.  Unfortunately, every radio station owner wants to have their own “app” to play only their stations (like Clear Channel and iHeartRadio).  ooTunes has been integrated to play stations here, but it is only available on the iPhone/iPad/iThing family.
I’ve said to those who have asked, that I’m App Neutral… I’m not choosing any one app over another – my objective is to make the visitor able to get what they want.  So far ooTunes is the only app that has taken up my offer to make their player work directly from the directory.
Expect that some time in the near future (probably before you see this :)), if you use an iPhone to play streams, the ooTunes links will go away and be replaced by a link to set your preferred player.  For now, choosing anything other than ooTunes won’t really do much except cause confusion until/unless app makers provide me with data of which stations they support 🙂 iHeartRadio will probably be mostly correct, but it won’t launch the app – just limit the pages to only show iHeart supported stations
