Jake Hartford is dead

You may not have heard Jake Hartford unless you live around Chicagoland. Most of his radio career was on weekends on WLS-AM. His day job was working behind the scenes at WBBM-TV

He recently started working as co-host of the late morning weekday show on WLS-AM

His wife was named Miss Dill Pickle in her youth, Jake (whose real name was Jim Edwards) made himself the head of the Nate Clay fan club (Nate was a really awful weekend overnight host on WLS) and Jake probably was responsible for getting Indiana to finally accept daylight saving time.

The Chicago newspapers say he was 63 years old and died of a heart attack.
