Dead Program Cleanup

The other day, I was looking at the show list that appears on the right side of the “What’s on now page” – more there for Google’s use than for visitors, although I’m sure the curious find it interesting.

I’m aware that as programs have gone away, I don’t always notice them – like how your college alumni newsletter never mentions the professors who left. I noticed Lynn Samuels in the list, which is truly a dead program. She died in December 2011.

So in my “spare” time, I’ve written a program to show me Shows that have no active schedule record and will be weeding them out.

    Missing program category:
When Mark Davis migrated from WBAP to KSKY, the change was reflected in the database, but Mark doesn’t appear in the program listing (0600 – 0900 mountain weekdays).

      You are correct!

I found him sitting in “unknown” program type.

The list that prints on the side of the page is only syndicated hosts, so he still won’t show up in that list

I miss the call sign KKAR, they are KOIL now. (Thanks for noting that ART) I always forget.
K-KAR is just easier to remember.

We need a “where are they now” thingy

Greg Knapp, formerly on Radio America, is now doing mornings on KCMO in Kansas City

The guy who talked Bruce Williams into coming back just one more time to do a daily podcast has died, which ended that incarnation of Bruce Williams. Bruce is still alive as far as I know, probably out selling Jersey Pork Rolll door to door
