Margery Eagan and Jim Braude were the most recent couple trying to draw in listeners to the Conservative FM talk station in Boston. General Media gave up and switched to Spanish polka music or something.
The folks have landed a job at WGBH, the public radio broadcaster that originates several of the national programs on public radio and TV.
Capitalism is so inefficient. If we just funded all of radio by taxing the rich and playing people free from pressures from greedy corporations, just imagine how much better informed we would all be!
Your ideas are so rich….’er…. so prescient, that I think you should be nominated to become the Czar of AM/FM Radio!!!! I will phone POTUS in the morning and have him to put you on the payroll, at $4.3M/yr, to straighten this mess out.
First thing you could do is confiscate the wealth of Warren Buffet (pronounced as it is spelled ‘buffet’ as in all you can eat), Jeffrey R. Immelt, Chairman and CEO of General Electric Company, Google CEO and cofounder Larry Page as well as others of their ilk who are shrirking their duty to “Pay Their Fair Share”.
OK, that should be sufficient to raise the required funds to keep a few thousand AM stations up and running for the next Millennium or so, as well as cover your modest paycheck.

The reason they couldn’t draw in people is because Jim Braude was so far left even the station didn’t try to hide it…and Margery? Let’s just say that she’s a better writer than speaker.
