Who is Christopher Dormer?… So it begins

“The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants-TJ.”

Forget Trayon Martin. This evolving situation could become the trigger that ignites the war people fear.

Here is his “manifesto”. He’s served in the US military in the Navy and was a member of the LAPD.

His manifesto is a carefully crafted story – the first time he was called the “n” word, how he stood up for his Jewish classmate, how he found the LAPD was full of corrupt and racist Caucasian officers who enjoy beating up mentally ill people for fun.

So he has set the stage. The LAPD has no idea what to do – his vehicle has been found on fire, but since he knows police tactics, they have to assume it’s a trap.

He’s now killed several people related to his firing and promises he will kill more. His story is crafted with the intent to draw other black policemen to his cause. He makes it clear he intends to die.

So will the black community buy his narrative and start another Rodney King and OJ Simpson revolution against white rule in LA (and maybe around the country?) Or will rational people decide he is just a crazy person with mental issues? Will white police officers stop trusting their black coworkers?

What will President Obama do?

Obama will do what he does best: ignore the situation as long as possible…and when it’s no longer possible, claim he knew nothing about it and pass blame onto others. If that sounds cynical to anyone, they haven’t been paying attention.

From what I was hearing last night, if you’re a large black man in a pickup truck, stay away from police stations – they started shooting at people and asking questions later.

My sense is he is not acting alone, and the burning of the truck was deliberate to evoke exactly the reaction it got – TV coverage of a massive police reaction trying to find a guy who is nowhere near the burning truck and provoke an overreaction

Based on the Harvard professor incident where “police acted stupidly”, I could easily see Eric Holder announcing a federal probe into racism and corruption in the LAPD and Mr Dormer winding up in Federal “protective custody” and then acquitted by an “OJ Jury” – after all, just an accusation that someone said the “n” word is grounds for murdering that person.

The implication of my original post, is I don’t think he crafted that manifesto by himself. It sounds like something straight of the minds who created the Weather Underground.

Breitbart is now reporting a connection with the Anonymous hacker group, which had a significant role in inciting the “Arab Spring”

    He’s not working alone.

The LAPD is going to reopen the investigation of the firing of Mr Dormer, which was basically his demand.

I’m thinking the White House and/or DoJ picked up the red phone to the LAPD and made sure they don’t act stupidly.

  5. Nidster says:

So, if the investigation of the firing of Mr Dormer shows it was unfair, or worse, racially motivated, then I suppose we will see:
    1) Dormer’s killing of the ‘bad’ cops excused and all charges drooped, or
    2) POTUS will just threaten to issue a pardon and all charges will be drooped.

He may have been wronged – who knows? Regardless, there is absolutely no justification for killing anyone, especially innocent family members.

Having said that, any large government organization, like the LAPD, is bound to have some bad apples and the result is blowback. I support a examination of the entire case, including what is motivating suspect to allegedly go on a killing spree as well as what is leading to this public blowback against the LAPD:

I am serious about this. I think there is a real problem where more and more people are feeling the increasing weight of less and less freedom and more and more things illegal and punished.

Owning certain of God’s plants can sent you to prison…. strike that, an officer saying you own certain of those plants can send you to prison.

Having half of you earnings confiscated each year.

Getting a ticket in the mail for with a picture from an unmanned camera at an intersection taken months ago and having to write a check.

        etc.

All these little things seem to add up and you are seeing people cheering for a suspected cold blooded murderer.

The “Arab Spring” started in Tunisia when a street vendor had his produce cart seized by a policewoman for not having a permit. He had enough and set himself on fire and the rest is history.

The “red coats” in the Revolutionary War were good God fearing Christians who had families and people who loved them. All these people who are loading up with guns thinking a civil war is about to break out… If they’re right, people in the military and police will have to decide very quickly if they are going to defend the government or the people.

Robert E Lee was the son of a revolutionary war officer and had been Sperintendent at the US Military Academy at West Point. He had to choose between being a commander in the Union army that was going to teach Virginia a lesson or he was going to defend the people of Virginia from the government he had taken an oath to protect.

War is hell. Don’t start a war you aren’t prepared to lose and don’t start a war you aren’t willing to finish.

So people working in the LAPD (and likely other police forces) are undoubtedly watching the Dorner is a hero Facebook pages spring up and gain momentum. At the point police and people view each other as the enemy, all bets are off where this winds up.

Has the President made any statement yet? Silence is agreement, isn’t it?

We’ll see how it shakes out. My little saying at the top used to say “Anarchy is the opposite of freedom”, a variant on “the best ally of the totalitarian is the anarchist”.

My belief at this point is he isn’t acting alone and he didn’t write the script. Getting fired as the motive for doing what he did is just the bait. He is a skilled marksman, knows police tactics, has had access to buy police gear. His badge and police ID was found in San Diego, and his truck ablaze several hours from L.A.

With all the technology in their hands, it sounds like they don’t have a solid lead. The Black Communisty is going to harbor him / his narrative was crafted to resonate with the “oppressed” people of LA.

The LAPD has put up a $1 million reward.

It’s plausible he really is this clever and it is just what he says it is – but I doubt he would have lost his LAPD job.

He wants gun control. He thinks Hillary would be a great President. He hates the NRA.

Alex Jones looks less and less insane over time.

The fascinating part of the media coverage is the absence of discussion on whether ex-police officers should have access to “automatic” weapons. The recent ban in New York and proposed for the rest of the country would allow this suspect to legally own them, but prohibit many of his victims from doing so- yet absolutely no discussion!

  7. Art Stone says:

I probably should have put context around the quote at the top – most people probably realize that TJ is Thomas Jefferson – what I didn’t point out is the quote is from Dorner’s manifesto – he views himself as a patriot fighting a corrupt and tyrannical government – which is a bit confusing since he loves the tyrant in chief…

I’m not the only one thinking he didn’t write the manifesto by himself and he isn’t a deranged lone wolf

  8. Art Stone says:

This is a maybe a small point, but most coverage of this has a key fact wrong – if you accept that Dorner did everything, he has at shot three police and has killed three people – but he has not “killed three police”.

He is believed to have killed the officer in Riverside. He is also believed to have killed the daughter of the policeman who represented him at the hearing and her boyfriend. Monica Quan was an assistant basketball coach at Calstate Fullerton. Her “fiancé” is a black man who was working as armed security at USC. They were found dead on the parking garage of their condo complex. Monica’s father was the first Chinese Anerican captain in the LAPD.

So I’m curious – did Monica and Dorner know each other? If not, how did he know where she lived? The motive here may be quite different than the “manifesto”

  9. Art Stone says:

So it probably is over. He managed to take out one more policeman. He apparently had been inside a cabin near where his truck was found. He stole a vehicle from right across the street from the command center and fled to another cabin. He probably set the cabin on fire and then killed himself.

If two weeks ago he had applied for a gun permit, should he have been denied? Military veteran, former policeman, no history of mental illness – he’s the type of person even in the most restrictive gun control environment would be allowed to own and carry a gun.

So what exactly is the point of background checks?
