A bridge too far

I’m posting the link from Bloombeeg because I’m just that kind of guy

http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2013-03-11/new-york-city-soda-size-limitations-barred-by-state-court-judge.html

A New York judge has issued a PERMANENT injunction barring enforcement of the New York City ban on large sugary drinks.

I was just watching a video from Arizona where a young Republican “establishment” woman when asked about data sharing with Homeland Security said “if you don’t want to be in the database, don’t jaywalk”.

One of the more important points made in Atlas Shrugged is it is the nature of government to create more and more laws and regulations, making it impossible to know what the rules are – turning enforcement of those laws into an arbitrary mechanism to selectively enforce against others.

If you’re looking for change in the size and scope of the federal government, the Republican Party isn’t going to ever hear that message.

The Republican Party – once proud group that spurred Abe Lincoln to the White House. Now, it’s a useless collection of elitists and hacks that aren’t even relevant in managed care homes. So my other choice is the U.S. Communist Party – Oy. What hath God wrought?

That is why they call themselves “Lawmakers”. In reality, they are “Freedomtakers”. It is hard to imagine a new law or regulation that does not reduce our freedoms.

  3. Forming another right-of-center political party is suicidal unless there is also more than one left-of-center party. The best advice for tea partiers and other dissatified lovers of liberty is to join your local GOP organization, bring your friends and neighbors to the meetings, run for chairmanships, and change the existing right-of-center party from within.

It may not be as hard as you think — many more rank-and-file Republicans prefer Rush Limbaugh and Rand Paul to Karl Rove and Jeb Bush. Total change won’t happen overnight but be assured that if you promote a third party effort while there’s no corresponding third party on the loony left, you insure the election of left-wing candidates for decades — leftists who might make Obama look like Barry Goldwater.

OK – sure there are obstacles to overcome, but when you have Senators who are following the Senate filibuster rules ‘by the book’, as did Sen. Rand Paul, and to be attacked by the leadership of your own party for ‘abusing the process’ is a clear indication that there is no other pathway. Sure it is going to get bad in this country for those who resist what is clearly the One Party system, a.k.a. the Establishment.

Get ready for the worst to happen. In other words, plan for the worst, hope for the best, but get ready as best you can, unless of course you crave being a slave to the system and are ready to bow-down to the system.

As stated above, the only peaceful way to resist is to stop being a producer and start being a taker, for the purpose of accelerating the collaspe. Another way to help is to vote against the established R’s. Collaspe the Federal system and promote the State system before the Feds can act against them.

Pleanty of states have enacted, and are presently enacting legislation to combat the unlawful Federal laws/actions. The Tenth Ammendment Center tracks their legislative efforts. Get busy calling your state representatives because that is the last refuge for the Producers to go.

How can we be confident that the local governments putting up red light cameras to fund their huge pensions are going to be any better? I’m becoming very pessimistic about them all.

  5. Nidster says:

Sure, funding the bloated state pension plans and paying current state employees will be tough to pare down, but there’s a huge difference between red light cameras and the efforts to take away guns and stop other unconstitutional Federal laws.

One thing some folks may need to wake up to is the likelihood that certain state pension plans are essentially bankrupt and are doomed to go unfunded at some point in time. A person might consider forming a plan to leave those states and/or localities that have ‘dug the deepest holes’. Move to a different state if you can, or at least make plans to find safe haven with folks that will take you in.

I’m not saying the system will fail soon, but it will fail at some point and a person needs to plan for the inevitable collapse.

I do not entirely buy the idea that the whole left/right thing is a phony divide. It is a useful way for TPTB to divide the nation, of course. Each side has core beliefs that are grounded in truth. The leadership of both political parties ‘mouth’ the right words but practice evil after the elections.

The old, mainstream media perpetrates the lies against the traditionalists, who are on the side of Life, Liberty, the pursuit of Happiness and having a well defended document that prevents the government denying us our unalienable rights.

Those who want to divide the nation are within each party, but the old media is really the dominant player because they chose who is supported and who is vilified.

Then we have the Bankster class who funds the dirty work and other evil acts. If they were ever neutered, dear Lord make it so, then things would change for the better over time. Of course we are running out of time to get America back on-track, and avoid plunging the people into complete servitude and the terrible turmoil that will eventully follow.
