Tonight while finding all the stations that no longer carry Andrea Tantaros, I found an unfamiliar syndicated voice on KWON-AM in Bartlesville Oklahoma, another radio station in my personal past. 😉
The show turned out to be Istook Live. The show is a direct production of the Heritage Foundation, rather than the indirect approach of having Sean Hannity stumbling through reading their talking points. It’s odd that I’ve not found this show before – it is produced in Washington DC, and is syndicated live from 9 AM to noon Eastern.
Ernest Isbrook was a US Congressman from the state of Oklahoma from 1993 to 2007.
I figured it must be a brand new show – but nope – the archives go back months. The press release says it started July 16th, 2012.
The show is distributed by WYD Media, which does the same for Mike Smerconish, Stephanie Miller, Mike Malloy and Thom Hartmann.
So what’s wrong with that picture?
This is stunning. There is one other station carrying 2 hours on Sunday.
The google search suggests that during the past six months, many high power Republicans have appeared on this “show” that is being heard by *nobody* unless they’re listening by podcast. People who are already members of the Heritage Foundation are not likely to have had their votes changed by a “radio” show.
Interesting discovery…can you identify by name these ‘high power Republicans’? Thanks….
10/1/12 – Rep Tim Huelskamp (R-KS)
10/11/12 – Senator Roger Wicker (R-MS)
11/2/12 – House Armed Services Chairman Buck McKeon
11/5/12 – Tea Party leader Jenny Beth Martin
GOP legal eagle leader Cleta Mitchell
11/7/12 – Former Democrat Leader Martin Frost of Texas (election day)
11/8/12 – Former Reagan Attorney-General Ed Meese
[…]
3/1/13 – Rand Paul
Interesting guests…could be worthy of listening to the program.
Thanks….
There’s the rub – you can’t listen to it – other than by archives. They list a 24 hour phone number, which says pretty clearly they are using “dial out” call screening, if they even take any calls that aren’t staged. The one station that carries one hour of the show live is in a town in the middle of nowhere with about 25,000 people.
Istook got in trouble because of being too friendly with Abramoff. The show on KWON is sponsored by an Indian casino. Play connect the dots.

SNAKE EYES!
It’s a great corollary for today’s political environment: There is truth out there, but no one is listening. So-called “low information voters” only hear the propaganda from the Reich and believe it without thought. Others believe there is a middle ground – yea right.
This is so odd!
