Dihydrogen Monoxide scare

Two morning radio hosts at a Renda broadcasting station were suspended for alarming their audience by discussing their discovery that when they opened the faucet at their station, dihydrogen monoxide started coming out.

Renda operates 18 stations, mainly in the Pittsburgh area

I grew up in Pittsburgh – WJAS was a moderately important radio station in the 1960s back when Pittsburgh was moderately important as a city

Recently I went to a bar in New Hope, Pennsylvania and found they had way too much Dihydrogen Monoxide in their drinks. Coincidence or conspiracy?

Well if hosts can be suspended for alarming their audience’s for discussing Dihydrogen Monoxide then what would happen if something really important came down the pike and the ‘local’ host talked about that?

BTW what is Dihydrogen Monoxide? Is it dangerous stuff? I’m too lazy to search that out, forgive me.

It seems like a work. The station had a poll on its site earlier today to see when the DJs would be allowed back on the air (immediately, Monday, or never). In a true suspension, there would be no evidence of them to be found. No one has been actually harmed in any way. Publicity stunt.

Turns out, its a deadly killer…. and a thief too! 😉

“Think I’ll spend eternity in the city
Let the dihydrogen monoxide flood my thoughts away, yeah
And pretty bodies help dissolve the memories
They can never be what she was (was) to me

    She’s gone, she’s gone
    Oh I, oh I
I better learn how to face it
    She’s gone, she’s gone
    Oh I, oh I
I’d pay the devil to replace her
    She’s gone, and she’s gone
    Oh I, what went wrong?”

Well you know that stuff can be deadly. You can drown in less than a gallon of it, it can cause disfiguring , even deadly burns if heated to only 100 degrees centigrade, as a matter of fact, at that temperature it has been known to cause explosions if it ruptures the container it is being held in, and if exposed to as little as a couple of volts it turns into a high explosive powerful enough to launch a man to the moon!
I can promise you that if the EPA or BATF gets wind of this stuff you will never have access to any more than you can collect in a hard rain. To make ME feel secure, owning it should require a 10 day waiting period, a background check, and maybe $200 tax stamp.

  6. If the hosts had simply stated that dihydrogen monoxide was reportedly coming out of faucets, they might have been OK. Unfortunately, as I understand it, they told listeners not to drink it or bathe in it.
