Today at the behest of his Gold sponsor who charges upwards of a 50% “spread”, Glenn Beck passed along a dire warning that the Illinois Legislature almost passed a law that would require everyone to register their gold so the state could confiscate it just like FDR did in 1934.
Since I have 250 pounds of gold sitting in my storage locker at the apartment, you can imagine how this put me in a tizzy!
Looking around, Alex Jones, Worldnet Daily and the rest of the conspiracy kookisphere all agree, so it must be true!
Not.
Here is the bill in question:
http://www.ilga.gov/legislation/BillStatus.asp?DocNum=3341&GAID=11&DocTypeID=SB&LegId=64562&SessionID=84
Here is the real synopsis
Creates the Precious Metal Purchasing Act. Provides that a person who is in the business of purchasing precious metal shall obtain a proof of ownership, create a record of the sale, and verify the identity of the seller. Provides that a person who is in the business of purchasing precious metal shall not pay for the precious metal in cash and shall record the method of payment. Requires the purchaser to keep a record of the sale for one year or, if the purchase amount is over $500, for 5 years. Provides that a person who violates the Act is guilty of a petty offense and subject to a fine not exceeding $500. Provides that the Attorney General may inspect records, investigate an alleged violation, and take action to collect civil penalties.
It’s clearly a law to prevent “we buy gold!” storefronts from buying stolen jewelry, mirroring the regulation of pawn brokers. It only applies to purchases by a dealer – that they not pay in cash and get a positive ID of the seller and report the purchase to law enforcement. It doesn’t apply to private sales, does not require registration of existing gold and doesn’t apply to sales by a dealer.
The only wrinkle is – how do you prove you are the owner of the gold?
Gold dealers love to spread the fear government will one day confiscate (y)our gold. Of course it is a reasonable assumption to make since it really did happen as you pointed out. And, of course anytime FDR’s name is brought into the conversation it brings to mind all the other murky things that went on during his regime.
It is worthy to mention NASA recently announced plans to capture an asteroid. Couple that with the scientific research that claims to have identified a particular asteroid containing as much as $3T worth of gold. Wonder who owns that asteroid?
Be sure to get his big picture… it combines gold and talk radio 😉

God.
Good answer! 🙂 and true…
Now that the enlightened are considering hemp for bulbs, one needs to follow the tungsten
http://www.zerohedge.com/news/2012-09-23/gold-counterfeiting-goes-viral-10-tungsten-filled-gold-bars-are-discovered-manhattan
You can’t make light bulbs with gold filaments. The melting point is too low.
One thing I learned from my light bulb research is that when you use 230 volts (like in Europe), the lumens per watt is much lower. To make the same light, the filament needs to have a higher resistance, and as a result consumes more energy as heat.
In the spirit of global harmonization, Europe needs to switch to 60 hz 115 volt AC power. Just think of all the polar bears that would save.
I have spent a lot of time in countries where the standard household voltage is 230, but it had been years until a trip last November brought me back. Those 230 v coffee pots are to die for! From cold tap water to almost boiling water flowing so fast… “like shit through a goose” as they say in the south. Ditto the hot water pitchers in the UK hotel rooms. Much faster to boil water in them then in a microwave!
120 v is much safer in case you get a shock. Both the 50 and 60 Hz are old technology. Most devices prefer 0 HZ. The 50 and 60 Hz come from how fast the magnets rotated in the generators of 100 years ago. I haven’t researched it, but I believe 0 Hz (DC) would reduce deaths. Most deaths are from the AC current passing through the human heart and confusing its control mechanism and causing it to stop beating.
On the other hand, if you work with live 15 kV trifurcating transition splices, heart attacks from electricity are nothing you need to worry about. Spontaneous combustion is your main worry.
One problem Amtrak has – the Pennsylvania Railroad’s electrified portion, which ran from Penn Station in New York to just South of Washington DC and West to Harrisburg was powered by hydro power that turns its generators at 25 hz, which it is to this day.
DC is not generally a good idea for long distance power transmission – this was the war that went on between Westinghouse and Edison. Westinghouse wanted AC and secured patents from Tesla, Edison was sure DC was the way to go. Westinghouse proved the viability of large scale AC power at the 1883 exposition in Chicago. GE saw the handwriting on the wall and switched to AC
Edison then did some testing and concluded (correctly) that 60 hz was more efficient. Tesla controlled the influential minds in Europe. Europe didn’t go to 220 volts until after WW2.
Japan is a mess, which became apparent when they lost most of their generating capacity on the East Side – the East half of the island was rebuilt by the Brits using 50 hz, the western side is 60 hz built by the US. It is not easy to transform large amounts of power from 60 hz to 50 hz
With DC, the wire you’re going through as resistance – you put a voltage on one end, you get less voltage on the other end. It isn’t easy to step up the voltage on a DC circuit.
With AC, instead if resistance, you have impedance – it’s the resistance of current flowing throw the wire – you lose current instead of volts and AC impedance is less than DC resistance. Stepping up or down AC voltage is simple.
AC is not without its issues – the sin wave of the power must be kept in sync within a couple percent. Electricity travels at 186 miles per ms. 1/60th of a second is 16.7 ms – so if you have a pair of 3 phase circuits that run a long distance (see: national grid) it’s impossible to keep everyone synced. One alternative is at the junction point to convert the AC back to DC and then use that DC to drive an AC generator that is synced to the next leg. Another option is to put the junction point at a place where the power is close to 60 degrees out of phase (5.6ms * 186 miles) and then connect the 3 phases to be synced when they really aren’t – but are when you factor in the distance
DC is not a real alternative for transmission where high voltage is a requirement. My point is that most home devices today prefer DC. Even motors today are controlled by DC powered circuits and can create AC through solid state electronics rather than motors and generators.
I am not proposing the engineering of the entire electrical grid, but with solar cells in every home, it may actually happen this century.
I’d add that the 60 Hz is legacy, but so it the 120 V. Most home devices would be fine and much safer with less, including LED lights. Sure you would need a few 240 v circuits like today- electric range, clothes dryer, heat pump, etc… and of course an imported coffee maker. 😉
“Who” said Tesla? I just re-coiled!

Fairly recently, there is renewed interest in DC for long distance power – on AC, most of the power travels on the outer skin of the conductor – DC uses the entire conductor so is capable of ultimately sending more power through a transmission line – but building high voltage DC lines at AC voltages wasn’t possible, but may be getting there…
“Carbon nano-tubes” is what I’d tell Benjamin Braddock today. Plastics are old school.
Russians? I’m shocked I tell you.
Shocked? You don’t sound very grounded.
Here is a story that the Chinese were shocked when Bill Clinton sent them a shipment of gold bars from Fort Knox in Oct. 2009. It’s amazing just how rich the Clinton’s have become in such a short amount of time.
http://presscore.ca/2011/?p=2780
All this cheating, lying and stealing is probably why the Illinois Legislature almost passed that law. There are plenty of other culprits out there. Britain, Germany, various and nefarious ‘scrap dealers’ maybe even Gold Stash, but who really knows how deep it goes? The Chinese are probably up to their necks in this too and perhaps just trying to settle the score from being ripped-off from all the tungsten-filled gold bars they’ve bought.
Ooops, mis-read the story, it wasn’t Clinton who sent the shipment, it was the United States Department of the Treasury Bullion Depository in Fort Knox. The fake gold bars had serial numbers indicating they were made by the Federal Reserve bankers during the Clinton administration.
I just mentioned Tesla to troll for Alex Jones and Art Bell fans
Everyone knows the ultimate way to transmit power is Richard Hoagland’s hyperdimensional power waves.
Yes, but how does one channel that power to one’s orgone accumulator and not affect the surrounding environment?
As I recall, Tesla was able to envision a fully complete, assembled machine, that was capable of stupendous affect, at a very early stage in his life as a child. Once a person understands that Tesla was capable, as a young boy to understand the enormous complexity of how to completely manufacture and assemble a powerful machine, in his mind, then the mental acuity of the above mentioned people subsides to insignificance.
Pardon me. Never mind. I thought you guy were talking about a city in Oklahoma. Please ignore everything I just said. 😉
So, were you thinking of Tulsa, or Oklahoma City? Lots of evidence the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building in downtown Oklahoma City was the start of the Islamic attacks on America. Was is not Bill Clinton who was POTUS at that time in history?
I was kidding. Tulsa and Tesla sound similar.
There is definite evidence linking the the bombing of the Federal Building in Oklahoma City to the presence of US troupes in the middle east. I believe the convicted bomber personally was one of those troupes. Whatever kind of blow back you classify it as, it definitely is not the first.
Two years earlier in 1993, there was blow-back in NYC as a group tried to topple the World Trade Center like dominoes to create a cascading stream of falling buildings. As bad at 9-11-2001 was, it was a walk in the park compared to the 1993 plan of rapidly falling dominoes where no one would have time to get out.
Here is a tool being built to prevent it from occurring again ( article by author James Bamford). The reader comments are as interesting as the article itself:

Ah, yes, you are right. I was overlooking the contribution sheik Omar Abdel Rahman made in 1993 to further jihad against the great Satan.
I posted that link in another blog a few days ago that was about Google and Austin, TX. http://streamingradioguide.com/startingover/?p=6935
It’s another nail in the coffin they are preparing for us in the name of protecting our freedom and liberty.
I have also posted links to Jayna Davis’ website elsewhere on another blog, months ago. Jayna is an investigative reporter who uncovered the ‘middle eastern’ connection behind the OK City bombing plot. She has written a book with all the details, $9.95. It’s an eye-opener for sure.
They assembled his machine in Philadelphia, but it seems to have vanished – along with the white middle class.
Not vanished. They just moved to the ‘burbs when Philadelphia started its own income tax and the businesses did too when they started the revenue tax.
Say you owned a food store and made 3% profit on your food sales. It you stay in the city, the 5% revenue tax means you are suddenly losing 2%. Move across Cross City Line Avenue and you are profitable again.
The generous social programs are a magnet for people that need them, especially new immigrants.
Isn’t that the Michigan model?
Then you complain your city has food deserts and suffers from food insecurity

It could be the fault of the auto industry. These problems arose after the Fox Motor Company ceased making automobiles in Philadelphia and left the city without an automobile manufacturer.
If there is any there, I’m sure he’ll find it:

Say what you want about Democrat Mayor Nutter, for missing the opportunity to bring automobile manufacturing back to Philadelphia – he let at fish go to Bushie Republican Haley Barbou in Mississippi.
Big government Republican, big government Democrat, right and left like a tightening winch until finally an alternative for freedom breaks free.
