Here is the reason for food deserts, but it isn’t possible in America to state what everyone knows is true. Locusts. It’s in the Bible.
The location is Logan’s Square, a very significant location in Chicago. It’s a stop on the Blue Line L train (easy access from the Green Line with a transfer at Clark & Lake).
The owners is from Equador and has owned his store for 28 years. The other robber was shot – since the store owner is not allowed to have a gun, the only logical conclusion is the gunman accidentally shot his partner.
The clock on the video is wrong – it happened about 5:20 PM

I’m sure that was a legally registered handgun that robber was using. Don’t you feel secure?
What make me madder than hell is that the shop owner had to bring a stick to a gunfight!
You want shovel ready jobs in Chicago? Put a beat cop on every corner. But nobody want to spend that kind of money, or really wants that kind of police presence in their lives. But that’s what you really need if you are going to try to disarm every law abiding citizen.
And even that doesn’t really work. Take England where guns are practically unavailable but gangs of thugs instead of lone gunmen mug the defenseless, and home invasions have been on the rise for years.
Now that’s full employment.
Gun Free Zones = Future Killing Fields
Almost 2 years ago:

Back when I lived in NC I worked at a big bank. My cube neighbor was a “gun nut”. Because we worked for a bank, we got free safety deposit boxes. So one day he says “so I want to go to the branch and put my rifle in my safe deposit box – wanna come along?” Sure, why not! Of course, it was in a carrying case and (presumably) unloaded. On the way, we went through the Burger King drive through with his handgun deliberately very visible.
My high school (1973ish) had a rifle team with a shooting range in the basement of the gym.
My physics professor in college was also a “gun nut”. My third quarter, there were only two people in the class, so it was a bit free form. We made a device to measure the exit velocity of a gun by measuring the kinetic energy by firing a bullet into a block of wood hanging as a pendulum. On the first try, the wood didn’t stop the bullet so it ricocheted around the room.
He also owned a small cannon – so we took it down to the football field to measure the effect the firing angle had on the distance. The projectile was an orange juice can filled with lead.
Ah, the good old days
