It’s close to two hours, but worth every minute. He ties together lots of dots. It’s every bit as powerful as the I Have a Dream Speech.
Can it wake up at least a portion of the 47%?

This should be a wake-up call to anyone that remembers President Nixon’s enemies list:

The story is conflating two things – Ameritech was a big customer of the type of computer I work on – I never worked there, but have had presentations of what they did.
When phone companies switched to digital central offices, a byproduct of that was the computerization of “call detail records” It’s a record in a standard format that says number 123 called number 456 on June 13th at 3:15 PM and the call lasted for 13 minutes and 7 seconds. Call Detail Records are what AT&T turned over permanent direct access to the government. The number of CDRs generated per day is mind boggling. If you want to connect the dots “after the fact”, that data is there. If the government has a suspicion that someone is up to something, then the call can be recorded and saved
You can be sure that all international calls are recorded, probably on both ends, and maybe in the middle.
Back when the anthrax scare happened, a woman in Connecticut was a random victim as one of the anthrax letters “went through a letter sorting machine within a few envelopes of the random letter going to her”. If you consider that statement, it strongly suggests that every letter going through the mail system is being electronically logged.
Another place I worked for (a car company) received a real time feed of ANI data (this was 1986) – so if an employee called a reporter, or Ralph Nader or a competitor, someone could intervene quickly. ANI is the underlying technology for caller ID. Since the employer pays for the phone, the employee can’t block that information.
Back in 1986, I would use a calling card and bypass that – not because I was calling a reporter, Ralph Nader, or a competitor, but because calls actually cost money and I didn’t want to charge my employer for a personal call.
Of course, employers reserved the right to monitor calls, and presumably listen to conversations as they do today.
Some even have a policy of no personal phone calls, meaning you can not call the car repair shop and ask if your car ready for pickup without violating company policy.
Thank God for cell phones. I pay for my own phone.
At my first job (1977ish), we had a dreary locked room where we locked away documentation. I don’t think anyone could miss the phone equipment in the room to be used to listen in on any extension.
You may have wondered – back when central offices used Crossbar switches, how did they do the billing?

Yet another reason I don’t want to go back 50 years
Go back 60 years and you’d Seymour.
Oh my.
Seymour Avenue in tragic news today. Neighbors wish they’d seen more. This is an amazing uncut interview with a true hero!

Back when I lived in Michigan, I actually drive through this neighborhood probably 4 times. You may know I have this “thing” about streetcars – Cleveland has an old streetcar route that runs east to Shaker Heights – so the inner city folks can get out to the rich people’s houses to scrub their toilets and raise their children.
Following my nose without using maps and just generally looking around, I headed east on Detroit, and turned right on 28th. It’s important enough to have a traffic light and was heading south which is generally where I wanted to go.
Turning the corner, you quickly learn the meaning of the term honkey. If your skin is not black, there is generally only one reason you’re there – you’re a undercover policeman. The lookout start to pass the word, and someone sort of randomly blocks the street. People just hangin out are eyeballing you… You lost? 😉
The first time, I figured it was just me being culturally insensitive. The second time a few years later, same result. It’s a very tempting street to get to the South side.
I’m not buying this story, sorry. I think there are other pieces to this story we haven’t heard yet. It’s unfortunate he has his racial stereotypes about white people, but that’s what living in segregated neighborhoods cause.
The 6 year old daughter was out in the park a few days ago playing in the company of the man who was holding her mom captive. Police are being cautious about assuming paternity. Another of the women – Gina – her father knew them for 20 years. He had a wife who died only last year. You can’t have 3 women held against their will for 10 years, one giving birth in the house without his wife knowing. Maybe the six year old just accepted all of this as “normal”, but I doubt it. Who did the grocery shopping for 6 adults and an infant?
It is an amazing story. I do believe that those people were held against their will. After a time, people can be broken, depressed, and learn that fighting or trying to escape is a losing battle with significant negative consequences- that does not equate to consent and more than handing over your wallet at the point of a gun is consent.
Stereotypes aside, this man did the right thing when it counted.
There are other interesting items floating out in the news regarding the family members of the captors. I will suspend my judgement until more facts are out, and they are in the proper context.
Another clue – the flag flying in front of their house is the flag of Puerto Rico. Only the one woman has said she was kidnapped. Nobody has been charged yet.
What about this case gives the FBI jurisdiction? They were “kidnapped” a few blocks from where they were found. Other than Fox News sending a satellite truck, there is nothing about the case that has any “interstate” aspect. There is no allegation that they ever went beyond their immediate neighborhood. “Well, they could have been taken over state lines – you never know” is not much of a rationale. The FBI only has jurisdiction if the a child is kidnapped, defined as 12 years old or less. One of the three women was 20 years old when she went missing. She was an adult.
Watch the video again in my breitbart.com link above, paying careful attention to the speaker’s reaction to the police siren at the 1:05 mark. I noticed it yesterday, but didn’t feel a need to point it out.

No worries, the communication center in Bluffdale, UT is transcribing all of our phone conversations now!!! That means when Aunt Rosie called you and asked for the recipe of those delicious granola cookies she ate when she visited you over the holiday season, your conversation was transcribed and even if she lost the recipe it can be retrieved!!!!!! Oh my, the wonders of technology knows no boundaries these days.
Have been listening to today’s (Monday) Glenn Beck radio show on KBTK 105.1 http://bigtalkerradio.com/ since they have it on a one hour delay ( 10 am – 1 pm ET) per my Logitech internet radio’s Tune-in schedule.
I can not stop listening and it is not because of Mr Beck, it is the station. It is like watching a slow motion train wreck caused by a mudslide down a Washington state mountain.
Several times per hour, there is a promo for things to do this weekend, followed by their “24 hour weather center”‘s forecast for “today, tomorrow, and Sunday.”
I see they use streamtheworld.com and all the above evidence points to cumulus management, but I see from the streamingradioguide.com that they are actually Licensee: GRENAX BROADCASTING II, LLC. 😉
“…all the above evidence points to cumulus management,” <— LOL
That is exactly how Cumulus rolls, CC ! LOL
Joe Biden would make an excellent 'executive' for cumulus.
Him and Tricky-Dick-Durbin.
Parrott
I am sure there is a “C…us” in this vice president’s future. 😉

There is not a C in conspiracy for nothing.
Communism, Carbon Tax, Coast to Coast, Clear Channel, Cumulus, CBS, Congress, CIA, Coca Cola, Canyon Capital. It’s all there in plain sight
Don’t forget Cigarettes, Chocolate, and Coffee
Sometimes, but sometimes not. What about the Coo Clucks clan?
In a former life, I’m convinced I was a private detective. I enjoy trying to track down who really owns a radio station. This station is near Flagstaff Arizona – it’s on a one hour delay because Daylight Saving Time is active and Arizona doesn’t follow it…
The FCC ownership only lists an address in Century City that is a new office building that houses Creative Artists Agency. The licensee is Canyon Partners, an alternative asset (aka Private equity / Hedge fund) firm with $19 billion under management. They’re probably just tenants and own a total of 4 stations in Arizona

The two identifiable people on the application are
Joshua S. Friedman – Founding Partner, Co-Chairman, and Co-CEO
Mitchell R. Julis – Founding Partner, Co-Chairman, and Co-CEO
They’re not really the “owner” – they are the managers of the piles of money other entities (like pension funds) have lent hem to find something to buy that might make money
Joshua Friedman is a graduate from Goldman Sachs nd is the 25th highest paid hedge fund manager
http://www.forbes.com/pictures/mdg45kihf/joshua-friedman/
Mitchell Julis is a Harvard MBA / lawyer with deep ties to Princeton University and the Woodrow Wilson School of economics – you Glenn Beck fans know exactly what that means

The person overseeing their media investments is Todd Lemkin, formerly employed by Bank of America and Lehman brothers – he used to live in a $5.3 million house in Malibu that he sold in 2010 for only a bit over $4 million

His educational preparation for this job is he has a BA in English from Berkeley. His wifeis the daughter of a real estate agent in MISSISSIPPI. She attended the Fashion Institute of Technology
Here is their office in a strip mall. Notice the Canyon logo on the door

This is too weird. I had never hear of Mitchell Julis before this post, and he winds up today in my Clear Channel news feed

The only meaning of Grenax other than this radio company is it will be the name of a 24th century Romulan starship
http://memory-beta.wikia.com/wiki/RIS_Grenax
Time travelers
Why would Romulans base their time on when a religious symbol lived on the Earth?
How many Romulans days did it take for God to create the Earth?
How many Romulans did it take to decide to pick Paul Ryan?
I hate Keith Olbermann with everything in me, but he’s right about Beck when he compares him to Andy Griffith’s character in A FACE IN THE CROWD. He’s a folksy con man who tells people what they want to hear, means not a word of it, and lets nothing stand in the way of his blind ambition. Phil Hendrie gets it. He says that Beck is essentially doing a version of his show, but presenting it as a straight news/information program. He’s so charismatic he’s completely pulling it off.
