It’s that time of year – the NBA and NHL playoffs have started – stations that don’t normally carry sports (neither hockey nor basketball are really radio sports) will start having periods of time where streaming is down (or they’ll be playing Clark Howard or Dave Ramsey reruns) – and basebsll is on full force, usually having games 5 or 6 days a week.
So if a stream doesn’t work or is silent, try going right to the station website. If you get the same result, nothing I can do will change that
Public funding. If we can get the politicians to spend out neighbors tax money to subsidize the millionaire owners and multimillionaire players stadiums, why can’t we get the same neighbors to subsidize the game’s audio streams?
Or put it on a paid YouTube channel…
You may remember a few days ago, I posted a link to a live YouTube stream. Would people be willing to pay Google to watch The Blaze on their Glass?
Are you allowed to say NBA or NHL playoffs unless you are an official sponsor? Perhaps you should rephrase it as “its that time of year — the contests leading to the crowning of a champion of roundball and puck have begun”.
When is the next “Big Game” that shall not be named?
My sense is that the NHL and NBA have been so damaged by player strikes that they just want people to remember they still exist.
I have long believed that Newt Gingrich’s victory in taking over the House in 1994 was directly related to both Baseball and the NHL being off of Television due to player / Owner disputes. American men suddenly had nothing to do at night and on weekends.
Feel free to call me sexist and see how much I care 😉
Top CEO pay is no longer the bankers, but the industry where the federal government uses tax money to enforce long term monopolies rather than have the firms enforce their own user agreements – copyright holders and the news media they control
