This is why I don’t get all my news from the movie studio video channels (universal, warner bro, fox, disney, etc) that have to be nice and not threaten the intellectual property monopolies they have been granted by the people they cover

A long winded anecdote about Enron. While working at NASDAQ, we had maybe half a dozen Arthur Anderson people there from their consulting group (later renamed Accenture). At the time Yahoo (I think) was running a national stock picking competition contest. The AA folks have their spies everywhere of course, and word spread the company that Enron was a “sure thing” for the contest. Of course, playing in a contest that doesn’t involve money is not a breach of fiduciary responsibility or insider trading, right?

A few days later, the news broke that Enron was a huge fraud and AA was right in the middle of it all. Enron declared bankruptcy and a year later Arthur Anderson surrender their license. Accenture lives on as a business consulting service.

Gunfire is frequently heard near my domicile and I have never called the cops to come investigate. Americans have the right to bear arms, but the sight of someone actually walking the streets displaying their legal firearms frightens people. Wonder why?
