Pursuit of Happiness

WBAI, the far left station in New York owned by Pacifica radio is in deep trouble, involved in fights over money with the Mother Ship in Oakland California, then knocked out be the storm flooding at their Wall Street offices.

Now they have one more reason to be sad – the cohosts of a monthly advice show called “the pursuit of happiness” were found dead together along with suicide notes.

Since getting guns in NY is close to impossible, they chose to end their lives using “exit bags” – a plastic bag filled with helium.

In an unrelated note, I read just yesterday there is a global shortage of helium.

So, they had some psychological problems and had a monthly radio program where they dispensed advice on how to live. The woman, Rosen, 46, was a psychotherapist according to the news story and, Littig, 48, was a motivational speaker and a musician.

Well it appears obvious now that one should be wary of psychotherapists, musicians and motivational speakers. Those type offer little to no contributory value to humanity.

I can’t understand how this could happen with Obama as President!

I hope DHS hasn’t been buying up all the world’s helium.

Perhaps the DHS did a phonetic search for “heal” and then bought up the supply the way the other DHS the did for bullets?

Why do we need two DHS’s?

Let me backtrack on my statement that lumped musicians together with psychotherapists and motivational speakers, because musicians certainly do offer contributory value to society. What was I thinking? I must have been typing faster than I could think.

My favorite episode of the Bob Newhart show was when Bob becomes depressed for becoming a psychiatrist. He goes to his old college professor for help and his professor tells him that they are all quacks. lol

One of the great ironies of life is that most psychologists are insane. That’s why they went into the biz to begin with- to examine their own demons and tell other people how to live. Freud was a megalomaniac with his own little fiefdom of sycophants who either towed the line or were bitch slapped. < no joke.

    • Nidster says:

Yep, totally agree!!! Psychologists do appear to be afflicted with an overwhelming urge to tell others how to live their lives. The movie “What about Bob” is one of my all time favorites.

My observation in college was the psych majors were the ones that got totally screwed up. They seemed to think they had found the secret map of the human brain and how it works – so armed with that knowledge they could use hard drugs because -they- had special mmunity powers

I seem to remember that they were kids with issues and were first on a path to understanding their own issues… really nothing wrong with that.

I don’t really agree that they have an overwhelming urge to tell others how to live their lives.

Some people really do have serious issues and it is good that there are professionals that are there to help. Doesn’t make them perfect.
