I saw one of my old polls and realized Tpper Gore pretty much vanished since announcing she was separating from AlGore

She has her own web site with a portfolio of her “work”

Contrary to the news stories in 2010, neither Gore has filed for divorce
I prayed to Quetzalcoatl for a Tipper update. Muchos gracias, amigo.
No problemo
Remember she was the head of the morality police forcing warning stickers on that dangerous Rock music that was corrupting the morals of America’s youth. She is now involved in a deep personal relationship with some guy who used to run National Geographic, while still married to Al.
I’m pretty sure that’s one of the big 10 Commandments.
Yes indeed. We can talk about it here, but god forbid someone starts to sing about it – then you need a government sticker that Tipper and Al started.
Strange to me that the media portrays Democrats as being for free speech and stranger still that the voters seem to believe it. The two incumbent parties need to be replaced.
We all know that Acid Rock is a far greater sin than adultery. For that matter, fossil fuels and capitalism ought to be somewhere in the big Ten.
Do not covet thy neighbor’s carbon credits
I disagree, Mr Stone. Encourage your neighbors to prostitute their carbon credits… isn’t that the TESLA way?
Sign, sign, everywhere a sign.
Do this, don’t do that – can’t you read the signs ???
I can tell you exactly where I was and with whom when I heard that song. Janis Ian’s “at Seventeen” was another – both very atypical of what I would normally listen to.
One of my older “poll” questions shows a sign in the park in Shelton CT banning the riding of skateboards in the park

One of the answers is a reference to an early incident where The Obamas invited a performance artist to skate board in the Hallways of the white house

Just the mention of Tipper Gore and the thought of her morality crusade against the music industry, mentioned above, brings back memories of Rush’s early days out in Sacramento, near Rio Linda. In 1986, Rush was trying to increase his audience. There were stories circulating that satanic messages were somehow encoded into popular music, but the records had to be played backwards in order to hear the ‘satanic’ message.
Rush came up with a ploy to increase his audience size, so he devised a scheme to report the media stories by telling the audience he had to quit his job because he had been co-opted by the Devil and had unwittingly exposed the listeners to some sort of evil ploy.
Well listeners became callers and they were demanding to know what he was talking about. After dragging things out for a couple of days, with Rush saying all the while he had to quit, the management told Rush he had to bring it to an end. So, Rush got together with the production guy to record some sort of ‘satanic’ type message. Then production recorded that over a reverse recording of Slim Whitman’s rendition of George Baker’s “Una Paloma Blanca” or, “One White Dove” for those of us north of the border, and Rush played that over the air.
Hells Bells, all bedlam erupted with callers sucking up the ploy ‘hook, line and sinker’. Rush thought listeners would see right through his joke and call in saying, “ha, ha, ha you pulled off a funny one there Rush.” But, no. They basically believed the production guy’s fiddling around with the audio was the real McCoy. Finally Rush took a call from a guy who told Rush that he owned every Slim Whitman record ever
recorded and when he spun “Una Paloma Blanca” backwards there was no satanic message, and Rush was just trying to fool everyone.
Well, Rush and the audience learned a valuable lesson that day. Long story short folks, we are being fed a bunch of hooey every day from the media. We need to verify and check facts no matter who the messenger, Rush included, but especially the network news.
So, thanks for bringing Tipper into the discussion.
Rush was quite the prankster in the good old days. You do that today, the station gets hit with lawsuits for “causing emotional distress”
Back in the 1990s, Z100 in NYC’s morning crew would play the 7-11 Game. They would simultaneously call two different 7-11 stores, patch them together and air the conversation until one of them hung up.
The conversations varied widely from day to day but always started out like this:
Store 1: Hello 7-11.
Store 2: Hello 7-11.
Store 1: Yes.
Store 2: How can I help you?
It was shut down within days quickly by lawyers from 7-11.
I’m amazed “More On Trivia” has lasted so long on Glenn Beck
Tipper and her ‘ elitest’ BS. Her and Al deserve each other. I wish they would just go away. They had their 10 minutes of fame, now just go away.
algore rode a powerpoint presentation to the bank and bill clinky to VP. Otherwise he would have just been another rich kid son of a senator that never amounted to much.
