EV charging into bankruptcy

I’m shocked, I tell you!

Another green company involved with electric cars is about to die – having taken $100 million in taxpayer money to create charging stations for electric cars.

I did the math a couple years ago – if we were all driving electric vehicles and charging them at rest stops in freeways, you would need the equivalent of a large power generation plant for every rest stop. Unless it is nuclear, the plant would still churn out CO2 unless someone figures out a technology to permanently store billions of tons of CO2

Thank you President Obama.

BTW- I am looking for a taxpayer grant to convert homes to battery power too so they can be just as green as the battery powered cars. 😉

“Tesla didn’t generate a profit by selling sexy cars, but rather by selling sleazy emissions “credits,” mandated by the state of California’s electric vehicle requirements. The competition, like Honda, doesn’t have a mass market plug-in to meet the mandate and therefore must buy the credits from Tesla, the only company that does. The bill for last quarter was $68 million. Absent this shakedown of potential car buyers, Tesla would have lost $57 million, or $11,400 per car. As the company sold 5,000 cars in the quarter, though, $13,600 per car was paid by other manufacturers, who are going to pass at least some of that cost on to buyers of their products. ” from http://www.marketoracle.co.uk/Article41830.html

Not to worry, the Hyperloop will carry your Tesla in style from LA to San Francisco with no energy consumption at all

Need lots of cameras and recording devices to record a giant solar powered bullet shoot out of a tube at 800 mph during an earthquake. 😉

The onboard emergency plan is to just let the thing go through to the station at the end – after all, the entire journey only takes like 37 seconds, more or less. Of course, if the emergency is the batteries are on fire, I don’t know what happens.
