Sirius and Fox announced a 6 year deal yesterday.

The audio of the Fox News TV channel will continue on channel 114, the Fox Business Network (including Don Imus) will be added to the satellite, and Fox News Radio (John Gibson, Tom Sullivan, Brian Kilmeade) will return to Sirius – but ONLY for Internet streaming, not onto Sirius/XM radios
Glad to know that Fox Business Network is returning. It had been on XM. Wonder what the terms are compared to last time. Keeping in mind that XM is no longer trying to outbid Sirius and Fox is now part of a new company, we may have seen the high water mark for the price they pay for content.
I just find it amazing that people who are already online will PAY to log into the SiriusXM streaming service (which is by all accounts a horrible experience) to listen to programs they can get for free elsewhere. It’s one thing to listen to Fox News Radio on your standalone satellite receiver, but you don’t have to pay to hear it. It’s literally a URL away.
The music programming is actually quite good. They do have some of their own talk hosts that are quite good too. I don’t think anyone here would sign up for their streaming service alone, but if you have it you generally get promos for their upcoming programming rather than real commercials. I don’t mind a promo telling me that they are going to stream an ancient concert sometime tomorrow, for example… it beats listing to Joan London tell me about her aging mother.
When you are up for renewal, you can usually get them to throw in the streaming for free if you negotiate.
I looked into that ad in high rotation currently offering a course that “is free forever” to deal with your rebellious teenager who says “I hate you” to Mom – and mom is still obsessing about it 30 years later. “sure you do, son – you’re a teenager and it is your job to hate your parents”
I’m not sure what a “behavioral therapist” is exactly. Her husband (who wrote the course) died several years ago, which they don’t disclose.
The “free” course actually costs $327 plus the original shipping charge they use to get your credit card # to ding in the future. The “free” claim is based on the idea that you will get a refund IF you successfully complete the program, doing all the assignments and taking all the tests. Overlook answering one question? So sorry – no refund for you!
I call it Fox Skews… they didn’t challenge this Republican liar the other day. Fortunately NBC did, and is 100% per my memory… unfortunately, the Fox Skews viewers are still in the dark:

Well, that’s worth seeing, but it equally skewed in the opposite direction. I was pretty familiar with this already as it is embedded in Democratic talking points. They hit the disclaimers but skipped over them.
The Commerce Department approved “dual use” products. One of the two components to make sarin gas is isopropyl alcohol like you can buy at any drug store. An IBM PC could be used to compute missile trajectories – or it could be used to track inventories of light bulbs. A civilian style helicopter can be used to guide artillery fire or it can be used to fly doctors to a remote village after an earthquake. Dual Use items aren’t inherently military or evil, but controlled a little more tightly given their potential for misuse.
The Anthrax thing is the most exaggerated. What was sold to Iraq was stained slides with dead Anthrax so the Iraqi could identify if anthrax had been used against them. Anthrax is an extremely ineffective biological weapon – to have any chance of working, it has to be weaponized so that the spores disperse widely and don’t clump together and just fall on the ground. Anthrax has to be breathed in – you don’t die from skin contact unless you have open sores already.. Go anywhere there are sheep, you’ll find anthrax on the ground. You don’t need to order it from some company selling treatments for curing anthrax infections.
The bit of us giving satellite intelligence to Iraq is the strongest case, but Saddam wasn’t a designated “really bad guy” until 1991 when he invaded Kuwait. Reagan won in large part due to Jimmy Carter’s failure with Iran, which is who we were mad at.
The more troubling thing was Oliver North selling effective anti tank missiles to Iran, our supposed “enemy”. They were what caused the sudden weakness in Iraq’s defensive positions and destabilized the standoff.
