The NSA is exploiting your back door

Now I know where those parakeets came from

Mr Snowden only had top secret clearance, which is not that restricted. Even so, he has documents released today confirming everyone’s deepest concerns about the NSA

http://www.theguardian.com/world/2013/sep/05/nsa-gchq-encryption-codes-security

– they’re working hand in glove with British counterparts to circumvent “no domestic spying” rules
– https and ssl are completely compromised
– back doors do exist in encryption software and algorithms
– vendors of hardware and software cooperate with the NSA to break encryption
– they view the public using encryption as “adversaries”
– much of the international encryption standards were written by the NSA itself to make them easy to crack

So which countries haven’t we pissed off yet?
And what will they do about it?

Here is where that strategy is flawed: by most measures, the US is still well ahead of the rest of the world. By putting in those backdoors and making it easy for foreign powers to spy on US, we have an asymmetrical situation where we stand to loose much more than we stand to gain…. and that assumes that only good guys are on our side.

There appears to be a rogue state government in charge of everything now: DEA, IRS, NSA, SCOTUS, Congress, and of course POTUS. It’s called “WASHINGTON, DC”

The Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) is funneling data from “from intelligence intercepts, wiretaps, informants and a massive database of telephone records” to jurisdictions across the country on anyone and everyone, unconstitutionally, to help federal, state and local authorities open domestic cases.

What’s really weird is we have made no progress against so called “illegal” drugs – the two main results are an explosion in the use of the “legal” sacramental drugs prescribed by the Church of Modern Medicine and filling up newly constructed for-profit private prisons to hold all the offenders.

What is happened is that as the Republicans ramped up the war on drugs in the 80s, the suppliers invented crack cocaine because it is easier to import…. and bred marijuana so that is is far more potent (more compact for the same effect).

Amazingly the drug warriors say that they are surprised by both and that they indicated a need to redouble their spending of your tax money… on the other hand, once you realize they are addicted to receiving your money, it is not amazing at all.
