The US Senate has voted to strip the “Defund Obamacare” language from the government funding bill as promised.
The ball is back in the House’s court.
The Obmacare Health Exchange sent me another email today letting me know the exchange is opening tomorrow. Of course, just because I apply in October doesn’t mean that the insurance will be there in January. A lot can happen in three months.
The House Republicans have all sorts of opportunities in front of them now. Imagine they limit spending bills to fund certain parts of the government that everyone thinks are essential. If the Republicans keep their discipline then let’s see the Democrats vote against funding Food Stamps, Welfare programs, paying the military and so on down the line. Let’s imagine some spending bills actually are passed, piecemeal fashion, but without funding ObamaCare. Then in a final spending bill imagine if they actually give President al-Obama his coveted funding for ObamaCare, but with the provision that nobody gets an exemption, everybody has to comply with exactly the way the bill is written. Then let’s see if it really is the Law of the Land.
Yes ! How about a Amen? excellent Nidster . cut it all up and send piece by piece.
But ‘Boner’ won’t do that, he will just cry.

Picking up the ball from their court, the House then sent another bill to the Senate to keep the government running while delaying the individual mandate, but Senate Democrats killed it, preferring a government shutdown to any delay in Obamacare.
They did get a bill passed to keep the military funded. One obstacle down, 10 more to go. The key to making things work out opposite of the way al-Obama wants is to actually OK funding for ObamaCare in an admendment where nobody gets an exemption, everybody has to comply with exactly the way the bill when it originally passed with none of the funny stuff al-Obama wants.
1 hour to go.
Tick, Tock, Tick, Tock
We should soon know whether or not half, or more, of the Republicans elected to office have backbones, or are they really RINO’s, as if we didn’t already know the answer.
Shutdown!
All non-essential federal employees please report to your sofas.
Now can the tea party swing public opinion to support the shutdown?
So, the shutdown mean the NSA is no longer intercepting President Bashar al-Assad’s communications, as well as my post?
Oh, and the Post Office will continue to deliver granny’s SS check, food stamps vouchers will still buy drugs,,,,,errr food.
So, if the government is shutdown does that mean anything al-Obama spends in the meantime does not have to be repaid?
“Hey, Mooch-elle!!! Wanna take another vacation to France????
Lordy, Lordy the possibilities are expanding with this govShutDown thing. So, since military spending authorization has been approved, surely to Goodness there is some sort of contingency plan to eliminate threats to the health & well being of America. What better time than now will there be to execute a cruise missile strike on all IRS centers? The upside would be terrific and collateral damage would be minimal. This would be a Win-Win situation!!!
The arrogance of Obama and the Democrats is just stunning — do it our way or no way, but everything bad that happens is your fault, GOP. The moral bankruptcy of today’s Democrats is truly repulsive.
I’m surprised that the GOP never mentions the 2010 national referendum held on Obamacare, when Americans demoted Nancy (“Pass it to see what’s in it”) Pelosi, booted Obamacare proponents out of Congress en masse, and replaced them with outspoken Obamacare opponents who promised to follow the people’s wishes and stop Obamacare by any means at their disposal.
The folks who were sent to Congress to do the right thing about ObamaCare should do the ‘right’ thing and replace the GOP leaders in the House. Then perhaps history could take a different course.
I work up and i can see a glow on the horizon – i think the sun will come up today after all…. wow, today has that deja y2k feeling all about it the world hasn’t ended. Enjoy sausage being made:

LOL CC !
The local TV news had a Live remote broadcast this morning from the Booker T. Washington National Monument, here in Virginia.
All SEVEN employees are on furlough. One said they may have to use ‘Savings’ for their mortgage payment. Ooooooh savings ! The news reporter chick said that 59 people visited the monument in October 2012, last year, so the local economy is going to take a ‘ Huge Hit ‘.
Really? are you kiddin me? So many private industry people lose jobs everyday and know they won’t be able to return to it. Gov’t workers whine way too much. Their job is still there, they are just essentially on vacation. Dum-cheits !
I would like a two week vacation. As far as I can tell everything is still running, the EBT cards still work, free cell phones still work, SS disability checks still go out, IRS still targets teaparty. Only things I have heard of that is interrupted is the Booker T Washington monument closed and Art hasn’t gotten his cheese, yet. Even Congress still gets their checks.
Harry Reid should be under a bridge on Interstate 70 somewhere in Ohio, pushing a Wal-greens cart with a rear flat wheel.
