I saw shot spotter – or at least its progenitor – on the Military Channel. It was being used in an urban setting to quickly locate and deal with terrorist bad guys. Quite the nifty triangulation set up.

On my final trip on the CTA in Chicago, I used a one time Ventra card – it’s the new fare payment system. For permanent residents, the idea is you register that you’re the owner of the card (or you use an RFID enabled credit/debit card) so the CTA will now know the identity and riding habits of everyone except those who pay cash, which already carries a surcharge. the only other alternative is to buy a “one use” Ventra card. It’s nothing but a flimsy piece of cardboard but even so you use it by getting it near the RFID reader. One problem with the system is if people use the Ventra card and anyone is standing nearby with a RFID card in their purse/wallet, it charges the fare to both.
What are the chances that ATM machines are recording serial numbers as they are being dispensed and sent to DHS in real time?

The biography of Dr. John Kellogg is very interesting. He really promoted the idea the frequent yogurt enemas promoted good health. He got his MD at Bellevue, the insane asylum and charity hospital in New York City.
He had been a 7th Day Adventist and wrote about ways to not have sex. He and his wife had no children, but had 42 foster children.
It was his brother who founded the cereal company using the flaking process they had developed. A Mr Post who was a guest at the sanitarium took their idea and founded Post Cereals, also in Battle Creek, Michigan (I used to live fairly close by – there is nothing quite like the smell of tons of overcooked strawberry flavored cereal
Can we be very far behind? When the fed prints, and the ultra wealthy get even wealthier, blame it on the middle class stores that are not selling below cost:

I’ve said this before, the only peaceful way out of the mess we are in, and the rest of the world is also suffering from the Banksters policies, is for the producers to stop producing and apply for government benefits.
Keep your eyes on the elections in Venezuela. Although considering who will be counting the votes don’t expect a change in the Regime.
Why doesn’t Venezuela have factories that make washer dryers and plasma TVs?
Hmmmm……maybe it’s because Venezuela does not have factories that make cars, planes, trains or anything else including butt-wipe material. They can not even keep oil production going at the rate it was flowing before da Slug ‘Chavez nationalized the oil industry in order to keep those dirty, low-down, sleezy capitalists from making money.
Oh, BTW he musta ‘hit’ the lottery, because when da Slug kicked the bucket his net worth was over a billion USD. He was tryin’ to attain as much wealth as Fidel Castro but he ‘fell short’ of the goal.
OK, back to the original story posted above:
I used to live in a fairly quiet neighborhood, but nowadays I regularly hear gunfire during the day by folks honing their skills to obtain a concealed carry permit. But it is the gunfire at night that concerns me most because it is not from target practice. Typically the gunfire is distant from my location, perhaps a mile or so. So far I have no worries to my safety, but that is subject to change.
