Bob Pittman takes the rudder at Clear Channel

John Hogan is “retiring” from Clear Channel, which was already in the rumor mill.

Hogan goes back to the Jacor days and is a solid radio guy. He was running the radio part of Clear Channel after the company was “taken private” in 2008/9

Bob Pittman was a child prodigy in radio in his 20s, but moved on to Century 21, MTV and AOL. With Hogan not being replaced, Pittman has a free hand to turn Clear Channel into his vision, which is generally not just a radio company.

So they gave Hogan a golden parachute and a shove. Pittman will “save” radio? Clear Channel seems to be on a path to destruction – what do you see Pittman doing to make Clear Channel profitable?
