The day of the Big Game has arrived. The attention of most of the Country will be on a cold football field in New Jersey. I sure hope there is no traffic jam on the George Washington Bridge on the New York side of the bridge or Governor Cuomo will never hear the end of it.
Sum of All Fears was a book by Tom Clancy that was made into a pretty bad movie, as Hollywood didn’t want to confront CAIR over the stereotype of Middle Eastern terrorists. The film was shot before 9/11, but held back from distribution for quite a while.
The premise of the book (not the movie) was that Middle East terrorists acquire a crude nuclear weapon and explode it in a football stadium during a Big Game where the US President is present, which results in the US accusing Russia of the attack.
Hollywood significantly changed the plot and Clancy washed his hands of the whole thing. The official excuse for changing the terrorists to South African Nazis and the location to Denver was the producer said an Arab nuclear attack on the US was not plausible.
Another Clancy book that I read and kept on my desk in NASDAQ in 2000 and encouraged ny coworkers to read was Debt of Honor. The premise was that a Japanese group would infiltrate the computer systems of the US Stock market to create a financial collapse, and then a commercial airliner would be deliberately flown into a very important building full of very important people. “Nobody ever thought anyone would fly a commercial airliner into a building on purpose!”. Only if you didn’t listen to Clancy.
Since the NSA has all of our call detail records, I feel confident nothing bad will happen today.
Enjoy the Big Game!
Regarding predictions of terror attacks, there is also the famous pilot episode of “The Lone Gunmen” (spinoff of The X-Files). The pilot episode is a favorite of Alex Jones-types as it depicts a remotely controlled 747 being flown into one of the Twin Towers (the plane is diverted at the last second of course).
The “9/11 was an inside job” crowd point to this episode as the “powers that be” showing their hand — the episode aired in Spring 2001.

I find it interesting that the writers came up with the premise, but I put no stock in the “9/11 conspiracy” theories. Sorry to burst any bubbles but 19 seekers of 72 virgins each did the awful deed.
One of the problems of predicting bad things is that instead of being a warning, they can become a roadmap
God I love the ‘Streaming Alerts ‘ ! Its sort of like the minion guy in ‘Despicable me’ : )
