Oh, my bad. Obama was there to praise the war on poverty that took black men out of the home, not Johnson’s draft that took millions of black men and sent them to Vietnam. (Involuntary servitude?)
A LOT of men, over 58 thousand, didn’t make it home alive but I guess that fact was not brought up when he gushed about a very loathsome President, LBJ.
And this putz was ranting and raving about Bush and Iraq? Did Bush kill 58k? I am embarrassed for Obama. God knows he isn’t ever embarrassed for himself.
I happened to see of of the President’s trip to Fort Hood this week for the people that died there. My heart goes out to the victim’s families.
But I felt the President’s visit and attention was disproportionate considering they were victim just as there are many other victims of shootings.
It felt to me that the brave men and women in the military that voluntarily put themselves in harm’s way over seas, and often sacrifice themselves to save other Americans get far less attention and deserve it more for their sacrifice.
Yeah, Art your points are well made. War on Vietnam drafted a lot of those who didn’t stay in college or those who could ‘earn’ some other deferment, while the War on Poverty caused many more fathers to abandon their wives and children.
Obama endorses the war? I missed that for sure. Man, anything that keeps the focus off of Obamacare is fair game.
