That has been around forever. I bought them in Maine, New Hampshire and I think northeastern Massachusetts back in 1998. I had never seen them in Connecticut however and used to travel there frequently.
McDonalds Canada does them over much of the country, if not all of it. They certainly have them throughout Ontario, as a colleague was raving about having them in Windsor and Toronto, as he went to Caribana to take photos.
