60 days before Federal elections, broadcasters are required to sell ad time at the lowest rate they offer, including giving volume discounts even if the candidate only buys one ad. In 2014, radio stations cleared their ad inventory to make room for the expected flood of political ads – that nobody bought.
I’m constantly getting ads on YouTube for the NC Senate race. I don’t even turn on the radio in the car any more.
Good ! Maybe the local cumu-lost station won’t play as many PSA’s .
Also this is the beginning of my fantasy football team season. I hope I finish better than 8th out of Ten teams this year. I always seem to draft a bunch of morons.

Someone needs to start a fantasy football ETF
Still no Political ads on Local Cumu-lost station. Just stupid PSA’s .
Lost again, second week in a row in fantasy football. Thanks Matthew Stafford.

I listen very little any more. Most I’m hearing are local races. Trump is spending very little on media buys. Getting free time is way too easy – just say “Barack Obama was born in America” and he gets another week of outrage. Now he said a bombing was caused by a bomb and the minions of Satan descend on him. It’s amusing in a way.
Hey Cumu-lost was off the air on sunday for 5 hours LOL
No political ads.
Good news is , I won this week at fantasy football Yeah.
Parrott is now 1-2
LOL
You might be interested to know that Lew Dickey has been spending his time as former CEO writing a book about the future of radio in a digital age. The chapter on Sweetjack the barking dog is worth the price of the book.

Cumulus just turned in the license of an AM station in Toledo. The cost to keep the transmitter functional was beyond any realistic revenue projections. It was a station owned by the Dickey family before they created Cumulus as a vehicle for attracting capital to play the radio aggregation race.
