Too Smart for Radio

If you are on a College’s alumni mailing list, you probably notice that the stuff they mail you tells you about the New Professor they just hired – but rarely tell you about the Professors who have left.   The same applies to radio.

Ron Insana had a show he modestly called “The Insana Quotient (IQ)”, airing on the late morning.   It pretended to be a show about business, but it was really him talking about liberal politics and how much he loves Barack Obama.

That show appears to no longer exist.     I can’t tell you for sure when.    I doubt many people go out of their way to test it.

In other news, Ron “My Mommy is a Commie” Kuby has suddenly shown up on WOR-AM – he was filling in for Steve Malzberg on Friday…  and dropping hints that he might be showing up on WOR more.   You may remember that the Patriarch of the Buckley family recently died, so their might be a radical change in programming now.

Related to that, I could swear I heard Steve Malzberg on WABC-AM on Sunday afternoon doing post-hurricane coverage.   If it wasn’t Steve it was someone with a lot of New York radio experience who just happens to sound like Steve.   I dismissed it at the time, since Steve is a former WABC employee and working for WOR….   Now I’m wondering….   Maybe I just have my radio buttons on the car radio confused.      According to Kuby, Malzberg will be returning Wednesday
