Russia to join WTO

The World Trade Organization is about to admit Russia as a member.

The FCC still has rules about foreign governments not owning American Radio of TV stations or providing programming – but the rules were relaxed during deregulation – there is now a presumption that if a country is a member of the WTO, it has no hostile intent toward the US and can be trusted to put its government propoganda on American radio and TV, which is why Public Radio stations are now permitted to carry the BBC North American Service, which until last year was completely funded by the British government soley for the purpose of influencing American opinion (U.S. + Canada).  Look for Russia Today to appear soon on Radio and TV near you.

In totally unrelated news, Russia has  condemned the violence in Syria (on both sides)… But says it will veto any UN use of force, citing the abuse of that power in Libya.

One Response to Russia to join WTO

  1. HPaws says:

Decades ago much mirth was had by drawing literary caricatures of excessive egalitarianism of Soviet comrades – our own excesses (taking the 1st Amendment where it doesn’t belong, handing radical Muslims local governments in the USA and allowing the depraved to pervert social and educational standards) are killing us, just killing us. At some point the liberal life’s losers that make up the bulk of government check cashers are going to come to those who create jobs and wealth begging that we help stop the decent into chaos . . . . I won’t be here, my buildings will be here, empty and abandoned – tax and regulate that.
