This is a person to remember. As TRN fades away, Salem Radio is filling the void. Their shows used to be only on Salem Owned and Operated (O&O) stations and a small handful of independent stations.
Phil Boyce (formerly of WABC) worked at TRN for a while and left suddenly to join Salem – I expected Boyce to shake things up.
Lee Habeeb was involved with Laura Ingraham back when she was on Westwood One (pre-TRN) and now works at Salem in talent development.
Our loyal contributor The JerseyDevil noticed that Paul Finebaum was a guest today on Dennus Prager’s show, which Mr Habeeb was guest hosting.

If you don’t know who Paul Finebaum is, you probably don’t eat grits and think the Crimson Tide is an algae bloom in the ocean.
Paul hosts a regional sports show in the Southeast with a large and loyal following. He got caught in the cross fire of Citadel going through bankruptcy and then Cumulus and Lew Dickey taking over Citadel and expecting him to work for minimum wage. The result was a very ugly and public legal fight between Finebaum and Cumulus/Dickey over his contract.
He’s more than ripe for the picking. I don’t know if he can stop being a homer for Alabama, but I’m pretty sure this wasn’t just a random interview – his contract with Cumulus runs out this month

It was interesting that Lee said he’d been listening to Paul for about a month and that now he was totally hooked.
The National Revue link probably explains a lot of the context of the changes in his life. The two main guys behind Salem started out in North Carolina. When I think of Mike Gallagher, I don’t think “new York”, I think Dallas Texas.
Salem Sports Network? Hmmmm….
Interestingly, the guy who has been managing WOR just went to work for Phil Boyce over at Salem/WNYM according to Tom Taylor
