Senator Kirk (R-IL) – let’s round up 18,000 gang members in Chicago

A few starting points – Senator Mark Kirk is the Republican US Senator from Illinois who replaced Barack Obama.

He was active duty military during the US bombing of Kosovo and has been deployed briefly in Iraq and Afghanistan.

His education consists of a BA In History from Cornell, a Masters from the London School of Economics. He holds a law degree from Georgetown Law Center, and we all know what that means.

News stories that mention “Rush” are a reference to Bobby Rush, US House member, not Rush Limbaugh. Bobby Rush. Bobby Rush was the cofounder of the Illinois Chapter of the Black Panthers and witnessed the murder of Fred Hampton by the Chicago Police at the direction of his honor Richard J Daley in 1969.

Senator Kirk wants to use all available force to round up the estimate 18,000 members of the Gangster Disciples gang in South Chicago, the district that Bobbie Rush represents.

Rush has called Kirk’s plan “an upper middle class, elitist white boy solution to a problem he knows nothing about”. They plan to meet on Tuesday.

My initial thought about a replacement Senator for Illinois were that New Jersey needs its own replacement Senator and lifetime liberal Gerardo Rivera was angling for the position.

It puts Gov Christie in an interesting position. Not that he would seriously consider Mr Rivera who had signaled he planned to run in the 2014 Republican primary for the seat, but because the Gov needs to attract lots of Dem votes for his own reelection this November, while not alienating national non-RINO Republicans for 2016.

Best wishes to any loved ones of family of the late Sen Lautenberg. I am sorry to see anyone pass, but I don’t think I could find another Senator with whom I disagreed on as many issues as I did with my late Senator.

…back to your original question, the Rush-Kirk meeting reminded me of this big meeting some time ago, over in Weehawken

Well Senator Kirk is ahead of Virginia’s senators. They deny that Virginia has a gang problem. The Shooting in Sterling Last week was gang related.
I saw last month on CBS 48hours that they said its was the Mexican drug cartel wanting to increase business in the greater Chicago area and established gangs don’t like the Mexican gangs moving in and taking over the drug business.
Maybe you could comment on the accuracy of that report, Art? Mayor Rohm Emanuel(sp) ? avoided and interview and questions about the gang issue on the CBS news show.
It showed a FBI guy who said they were making progress and they knocked down a door at a house in the suburbs and scared people and handcuffed some ol boy.
So yeah, round them up. Gangs and mexican gangs and ask Tajikistan or any of those ‘stans’ and let them keep them for $10k each gang-banger, a year on contract. Which would save us money. Can you imagine the treatment?
They would appreciate the U.S. then? Probably not, it would just make them madder, the ones not killed. Then they would just be sleeper cells.
I don’t think there is not anything you could do to reform them. call Judge Dredd?

One thing though, not allowing regular people to defend themselves and banning guns from them, just makes Chicago a killing field. hate.

I live up in the far NW corner, away from the Black and Mexican gangs. Here just the Italian / Russian gangs, but they seem pretty low profile if you don’t go looking for them and don’t own a business that needs protection.

It sounds right that the killings here are Mexican vs Black, and the Blacks are being squeezed out, which mirrors what is happening in LA. The whole South side is depopulating and I generally think most middle class English speaking whites have left Illinois, knowing the tax/ debt / pension issue that is coming.

An important part of understanding Bobby Rush’s place in all this – back around 1967 when the Black Panthers were forming – encouraged by the Weather Underground (aka Bill Ayers) – they uncovered that J Edgar Hoover had a deliberate strategy of fostering infighting between the black gangs so black power would not challenge the establishment but rather focus on each other -like we did with Iran and Iraq.

Rush met with the various gang heads and explained to them what was going on with the FBI and organized a truce between the gangs, and made their mistreatment at the hands of the Chicago Police the focus instead of each other. Black Panther volunteers would shadow police and challenge police that were hassling black men for just being black.

That’s why Fred Hampton had to be killed. They also raided Rush’s house with probably the same intent, but he wasn’t home. Jesse Jackson arranged his surrender to police – he was charged with marijuana in the house and having an illegal gun (blacks have no rights to own a gun in Chicago as they aren’t actually people). Those who knew him think it is extremely unlikely Rush had pot. I can’t imagine that Rush doesn’t personally know all the gang leaders, if he’s not the defacto leader.

Why blacks ended up siding with their Democratic Party slave masters is still a mystery to me – I guess free food, free housing and no expectation of doing work was too tempting an offer to ignore.

    Looks like they made nice

Kirk has access to free federal $$$ and we know how that can solve pretty much any problem.

Take the same thought process and instead of “gangsta Disciples”, replace that with Tea Party or Patriot Movement or polyagmist Mormons.

Senator Kirk has exactly the mindset that I fear – he’s now been involved in both Iraq and Afghanistan and completely comfortable with the notion that you can round up people without charge, detain them indefinitely and bomb them with weapons from the air. That’s become his “new normal”.

Thomas Jefferson’s notion was that unalienable rights come from the Creator, not from the US Government. Of course it’s possible Jefferson was just pulling poetic ideas out of his butt – the only way to retionalize that idea with slavery and the treatment of native Americans is that blacks and Indians are not men, but subhuman creatures you can deprive of their life and / or liberty – or alternatively, they are Savages because they have sex like animals, not the civilized Christian sex taught by missionaries.

Brings to mind the extreme demonization of substance abusers started pushed by GW Bush as he ramped up the importation of illegal substances to fund off-the-books programs for his colleagues after he and Ed Meese had their Iran-Contra money flow disrupted.
