Price’s chicken coop was a big deal when I left Charlotte in 1981 (among the locals). It’s located in an industrial neighborhood south of Uptown. It used to be across the street from railroad tracks, replaced now with the Blue Line LRV
The place has been there since 1962 – I was surprised to find it still there as busy as ever in a neighborhood becoming trendy.

This is the 8 oz perch dinner

I wonder how many of dem damn Yankees think that sign says “Price’s Chicken Co-op”
I sure hope your hospital adventure wasn’t heart disease related. I think I detect a small amount of grease and fats in that photo ๐
No, a Cardiologist was hovering over me the whole time trying to introduce me to his warez. I was wearing a heart monitor for four days, and not a sign of a problem. I shooed him away. My own conclusion is my health deteriorated due to long term vitamin D deficiency from getting virtually no sun. The original suspicion (offered by me) was a DVT that became a PE, but after doing tests there was no evidence of that.
My niece thinks that is what killed my sister (they didn’t do an autopsy so we’ll never know for sure). My sister had taken a cruise to Barcelona then flown back. She wasn’t feeling well when she got back. She died suddenly in her bathroom. It’s also possible she had cancer… Don’t know. She was 62, no health insurance, but would not have gone to a doctor even if she did. This is a bit confusing to her immediately family, not so much to me.
Art – understood. I had the opportunity to experience the vaso-vegal response which put me into the rarefied air of near death experiences. We still have no idea what caused it, but I spent a few days in cardiac care. CT Scan, MRI/MRA, Nuclear Stress test, etc. Your theory seems sound on the surface – what caused the DVT is my thought. I am glad you are here for continued witty repartee!
Art – Are your niece and nephew in NC the children of your sister who had passed recently? Not looking for a your password on ancestors.com but trying to connect a few dots. ๐
Yes, they are my sister’s children. There is a third child living in Wisconsin. The fact that the two kids are in Charlotte made moving here a lot easier and will solve lots of other issues. They were a little surprised that I lived here in the 1970s and the oldest had visited me here (much too young to have remembered)
Still stalking me, eh?
You’ll be so disappointed.
lol

What a shame that the United States has stolen the Hispanic culture and de-ethnicized it!
I did get the point, right?
Missed it completely. I was rebutting lasong’s point that nothing looks healthier than a grease-stained menu to suggest that a salsa stained menu might…. now I have both of you angry with me. lol
Want to become a billionaire? Start a burger chain that cooks fries in lard.
Fries can’t be done like that now-a-days!
Ray Kroc(idile) got away with doing that, but he didn’t have Mooch-elle to deal with back then.
Damn, that looks Good ! Hushpuppies to Toto !

“Grandpa says:
If ya got dry lips

so ya won’t lick ’em.”
