Trouble in McAdenville

So you know that one guy who gets obsessed with putting up more and more elaborate Christmas lights until it consumes his entire income and life… Now imagine a town where all those people decide to move to and compete – welcome to McAdenville, NC – Christmas Town USA.

The Christmas light display started in 1956. The lights go on December 1st and people drive there in their cars and gawk at the displays. I just read that Fox & Friends did a remote on December 19th.

The lights of McAdenville went dark Saturday night – not because of concern over polar bears or carbon footprints or an order from the ACLU – but according to the TV news article “According to the Department of Transportation, the road near Lowell Avenue knocked down power lines causing the roadway to close. Around 9:45 p.m. DOT sent a notice stating “McAdenville Lights cancelled due to power outage.””

Who knew roads hate Santa?

Where are all the demonstrations, protests and mobs riots upset because of all those Christmas celebrations are consuming too much precious energy leading to global war…..I mean, climate change? Could that power line have been knocked down by the Grinch?

You’d have to be a Roads scholar.
