Glenn Beck booted from SiriusXM

CNN coverage

Glenn’s program crossed over the line last week when guest Brad Thor sort of encouraged someone to maybe assassinate Donald Trump. It went far enough in the Glenn Beck “I’m not saying this, but” way – Glenn’s slimy way of insinuating – that John Malone’s company yanked his program from the Sirius XM Patriot channel, at least for the rest of the week.

Beck’s “ratings” here have plummeted. Beck is approaching the point in his behavior that reasonable people might see involuntary confinement as necessary. That’s extreme, but so is his behavior, including his ongoing implications of suicidal thoughts.

If this sticks, I would expect DirecTV (also controlled by Malone) to follow suit once the lawyers figure out how to break the contract.

Malone is otherwise occupied with huge media and telecom deals. As far as I know, he isn’t overtly political. I can’t find him commenting on Trump one way or the other. Once upon a time, he used to play golf with Rush Limbaugh, but I wouldn’t read a lot into that.

I listened to that “interview” and I was shocked beyond belief that Glenn not only let it go on, but also egged Brad on to more extremes when talking about Trump. Let’s look at it dispassionately – Beck is not stable and never has been. Everything is life-or-death for Beck and he can’t wait to use his popularity to destroy Trump and anyone else who he doesn’t like.

SiriusXM is hinting this may be permanent. Beck has been pointing out that rap artists have overtly been calling for their followers To kill Trump. I get the point if that was the motive but most people won’t

I enjoy Beck’s show and was a Cruz supporter, but all the public praying to God so that Cruz would defeat the evil Mr Trump was too much for me.

Once citizens of any country become convinced that the leader of their country is not acting on their behalf but instead acting on the behalf of God, bad things tend to happen.
