Apple just pushed an update for iHeartRadio, and at least some Cumulus Stations are now live, at least on the iPhone/Pad
I’m listening to WABC on iHeartRadio at the moment.
It looks like the former Citadel and ABC stations are live as well as the Susquehanna stations (a group of stations integrated into Cumulus recently but run by them for several years)
Radio-info.com’s afternoon update says Cox and Emmis have agreed to be added to iHeartRadio.
Other than CBS and non-commercial stations, that’s most of the big guys in Radio.
Don’t underestimate Bob Pittman
Its still crap. (IHeartradio that is)
Stream the world, LiquidCompass are better. The independent players like what WAAM uses and the few that use windows media player and Quicktime, are the ones I search out nowadays.
I use to listen to WRVA or WKRC, sometimes WAAV or WSBA (when I can stomach cumulus), but they are iHeartradio now.
cumulus, LOL

At least in the beginning, iHeartRadio is optimized for 3G cell phone users who may be paying data rates to stream, so it is intentionally low bit rate. The web site version is slowing getting the bugs out 🙂
The Buffalo Bills have filed a lawsuit against Cumulus for $1 million they say they are owed. They’ve also are being sued by a guy who they fired named Ralph Barbieri out in San Francisco saying the terminated his contract after they found out he was diagnosed with Parkinson’s.

This feels a lot like what they did to John LeBarca at WICC-AM – letting him go with no warning after he had a “heart scare” (John was significantly overweight).
People in radio go into it knowing that job security is not part of the package. Mr Barbiere is beyond retirement age and has Medicare coverage. If his illness is starting to prevent him to do the job he was hired to do, I’m not entirely sympathetic to his case. Step aside and let a younger man take over. Pass the baton.
