This just in – Dan Patrick told his audience on Tuesday he is finished with Fox Sports. That little news tidbit was only found on two tiny blog sites and a visitor here who let me know – and one vague email wondering why they couldn’t find his show.
The disruptive change has arrived. See you on the other side after radio transforms itself.
Speaking of “Quickenings” I guess it is about time for Art Bell to ‘un-retire’ again? (Not sure if you are referring to him in your headline, but Bell wrote a book back in the 90’s called ‘the Quickening’).
I guess Mr. Bell better hurry if he is going to come back again, December 21st, 2012 is coming up fast! 🙂
That was very much a reference to Art Bell. Change will start coming so fast that you can’t keep up with understanding what is going on and why. Something will emerge on the other side (maybe) that won’t just be a gradual transition.
Clear Channel still has $16-$20 billion in debt, a lot of it tied to LIBOR I think. The cost of money returns to “normal” and the holding pattern waiting for revenues and station values to rebound will become more and more unrealistic.
I got the Dan Patrick thing wrong.
He is still on the radio – what changed is his TV syndication.
