You weren’t there when facebook was created, nor when the first Tweet happened on twitter.

There is nothing there yet, but that won’t be true for long 🙂

I was looking for Guam. I am a loyal listener of KGUM and I can’t believe you’ve ommitted me! Did you CGI do your healthcare site, or what!?!? lol
Obamacare is not available in Puerto Rico.
“If you live in Guam, you’re not eligible to use the Marketplace to apply for health insurance. Check with your territory’s government offices to learn about health coverage options.”
Maybe all Republicans should move to Puerto Rico.
Interesting. I did not know that. Obviously, I was kidding about Guam, but I am serious about this – I don’t think you can have one answer per state, I believe that CMS divides the states into areas and that those areas have different fees, at least from the CMS perspective. Therefore, I suspect that different plans may be offered in one part of a state than another.
You totally misunderstand what I’m trying to do. There will be no quote data at all from my web site – just links to the companies that offer individual health insurance within a state – to go around healthcare.gov.
What I’ve done so far shows general concept – pretend you’re in North Carolina (the only state I’ve gathered data for)
http://health-care.streamingradioguide.com/health-insurance-list.php?state=NC
It’s pretty respectable for a couple hours work, but then again I’ve been doing this for about 15 years. One thing I’m finding is the “give me a quote” is usually buried with all kinds of tracking to figure out where a visitor came from, so haven’t a “Quote Link” may no serve no purpose and a single link will do.
Whee!
Celtic is offering me a PPO bronze plan with a $6,000 deductible for the low price of only $924.44 a month!
Wow. For $11,093.28 with a $6,000 deductible each year…. at least you get free pills for recreational sex… but you need to get the script first. 😉
It does look great for only a couple hours work. This one tells you a little bit about the plans, (PPO, HMO etc) and copays and deductibles. What is missing is the actual quote for your age and your subsidy.

What I think is missing is an Android/iPhone app for $1.00 that does the same. 😉
All I want for Christmas is a big, fat, SUBSIDY, paid for all the producers, and the answer to this question: “Is there really a Santa Claus?”
No, he died from taking statin meds.
Absolutely brilliant! Art is correct – we don’t need quotes, just links to go around Obamacare. The point is that 500 million was spent on absolutely nothing. You can get what you need without Obama care! (Probably safer for your personally identifiable information too).
Someone clarified what I experienced on the first day – the original process to register before you could see a quote was running a credit check against Experion.
That leads into the next obvious problem – non-payment of individual insurance policy premiums is already a big problem. People sign up, pay a premium for a month then get that expensive work done, then never pay for the second month and wait for the policy to be canceled.
With guaranteed issue, if an insurance company has been shafted in 2014, would the same person have the right to get another one month in 2015?
Even if you’re being honest, is there even a right for a person to cancel your policy or are you committing to pay for all 12 months?
Wow. Don’t you have to grant permission for someone to access your credit files?
What if you want to pay for your insurance before you receive it – why do you need a history with the Experion company? Had I known that, I would have bought stock in Experion. Who knew they had such good lobbiest!?!
The hell with Obo-Care. I am going to K&W !

Worth considering:

I’ve started to populate the data with the “big guys” and the states they write individual policies in. If the link starts with “ALL”, that means I think I’ve found a complete list.
It is very interesting how very few companies are in actually in this business in the entire country.
US News is doing something similar
http://health.usnews.com/health-insurance/texas/plans
That appears to be powered by eHealthInsurance.com, but the data is more complete than the actual web site, which seems to filter out companies that aren’t sponsors
To give you a sense of how outrageous Obamacare is :), the 2013 $5000 deductible HSA plan from BC/BS of NC is $205 per month… (compared to around $650 for the Guaranteed Issue ACA compliant plan).
Now the $205 is the “perfect health” price – even if I was rated as a 100% surcharge, I’m still well below the ACA policy. This probably explains why BC/BS was “on board” for this Obamacare thingy 🙂
I believe you can not legally buy an ACA HSA if you are over 30 years old. I am over 30 years old and have some savings. I could afford my own doctor visits, antibiotics, and routine tests and really just want true insurance in case i need an unexpected long transplant or extensive cancer treatments…. nope, the Dems know what is best for me, and that is shelling out a lot each month to bankroll their constituents.
So, is Emergency Care gone?
Let’s say I ditch all my identity papers, put all my assets in a place no one can find them. Then I crawl into the emergency care door and collapsed on the carpet, will they
a) treat me,
b) throw me in their dumpster full of aborted fetus’,
c) call the FBI,
or d) ignore me?
Illegal aliens are exempt from Obamacare, so most of the 30 million uninsured will remain that way.
I think it likely that hospitals may get more aggressive at making self pay patients (like Rush Limbaugh advocates people be) pay the full charge and not offer cash discounts.
The law about emergency care hasn’t changed. Since there will be millions of new Medicaid patients, I would expect ER usage to explode, given that most doctors don’t accept Medicaid patients.
Can we ignore any health care providers who may still be advertising on Channel (fill-in-the-blank-here)?
It’s a free country – ignore whatever you want!
