Visited Yahoo this weekend? You’ve got malware!

The estimate of 2 million infections is probably way high. Way back when I ran ads on FindAnISP.com, I quickly learned you have to know who is selecting the ads and how tight their screening process is or you open your visitors up to attack.

In this example, a third party ad exploited a hole in Java to infect windows computers. Initial reports suggest the infections are mostly in Europe – maybe that’s just based on the time of day, or maybe it was targeted.

Given the legacy of Stuxnet and the boasts of the NSA to have control over 50,000 private networks, I don’t think we can rule out anything

LOL Figures. I ‘was ‘ in a Fantasy football league on Yahoo, but was eliminated from playoffs long ago. So I missed that one.
I think I have a XP machine here that was used for football and it got a virus two years ago. I bet it came from yahoo, since that was all I used the computer for.
Dorks, they messed up the interface with leagues anyhow, looks like cheit and pop ups everywhere, so they suck.

What do you think of the ads on radio enticing people to think they can win $1000s of dollars in a single week?

Well, part of me says, ‘stupid should hurt’. But it seems it is always the same ones that click on those ads.
I have a relative that tries to tell me that he is successful at picking college football winners and NFL games. But he never has money.
I tried to tell him that Las Vegas and the bookies wouldn’t be in business if ‘They’ were loosing money.

I noticed something on my 1st trip to a casino (Foxwoods) years ago.
Their average room was about twice as fancy as my modest lil house..
They didn’t build all that because they expect to lose $.
    The House always wins.

A while back, I became interested in a woman who lived in the Upper Peninula (da UP) of Michigan. She had a good government job, was in her 40s, lived in her mother’s home – yet had no savings.

We met at the casino just over the Mackinaw bridge. I got a roll of quarters (or was it nickels?) and was somewhat irritated at winning once in a while and extending the amount of time I had to pretend I was enjoying it.

I deliberately wandered off so my presence would not constrain her behavior. By the time I was done, I circled back to where she was, and she had 3 machines going at once ($1 machines). That pretty much cleared up any mystery about her finances.
