Randall Bloomquist is a radio consultant type guy. I don’t know much about him other than a vague memory of reading something he wrote and not thinking much of it – it was a lot of spin that was fact free

To be clear, his job was to supervise the national syndication and the local PDs in the Cumulus News/Talk stations. He was the boss of Michael Savage, Mark Levin and the Red Eye Radio guys.
He was on the phone last year when the KGO/KSFO program director keeled over dead. He was surely involved in the decision at KABC to fire Larry Elder and replace him with Dr Drew, and letting Sean Hannity escape.
I just hope after Clear Channel and Cumulus self destruct, there is some new saplings ready to replace the smoldering old growth forest.
My suspicion is there was a tug or war going on. The cumulus talk products are becoming branded as Westwood One, which has its own talk radio boss (Red Eye Radio probably reports to him). My guess is the former ABC stuff will all move to Westwood One now.
ABC Radio news apparently picked up a lot of new affiliates now that it is not run by Cumulus. Tracking who is carrying the CNN provided “White Label” news service is hard because – well it has no identity.
